Natural History Museum

I had a little outing today and took the train up to London to wander around the natural history museum. I had a look around the new Darwin centre and then went to a talk by polar explorer Ben Saunders who will be following Scott's route to the South Pole later on this year in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of their expedition. There was a temporary exhibition showing at the museum called 'Scott's Last Expedition' which i went to... http://www.nhm.ac.uk/visit-us/whats-on/temporary-exhibitions/scott-last-expedition/index.html There featured information about the scientific discoveries which resulted from the expedition. How the team forwarded research in many fields including meteorology, geology, zoology, botany and glaciology amongst others. One of my favourite parts of the exhibition were the original journals that were kept by some of the explorers...there is something so intriguing and humbling about seeing first hand the thoughts, stories and sketches of these men that changed history.
