Towner Gallery Eastbourne

Hannah and I took the bus out to Eastbourne on Tuesday to visit the Towner Gallery. Neither of us had been there before so didn't know what to expect. We went to see this

Gibson / Martelli (igloo) – VISITOR

there was quite a fun installation which involved half a rowing boat that was connected to a computer generated landscape, we were given the map and tried our best to co-ordinate our way through the place. The whole thing was set up inside this house...

and then in the corner of the room they were showing a 40 minute film with footage of the Canadian Rockies which i thought sounded pretty good but it turned out to be on a tiny little tv screen which was a bit of a let down, we thought it would have been much better projected on to the whole end wall.

I enjoyed watching this documentary about David Hockney. His recent Royal Academy exhibition looks fantastic, i really want to go and see it. And i thought my landscape drawings were big :/

Galapagos Production with Glenn Jones

A friend of mine has started making short music films of bands and solo artists performing live in intimate house shows/random places. He wanted to use my Haystacks Lake District drawing as a backdrop to one of his films and i was more than happy to oblige. Last Monday they invaded our living room with their cameras, lights and action and we were treated to some truly beautiful guitar and banjo playing by Glenn Jones who is currently on tour from the US. His music can be found here

I look forward to seeing the film immensely!!
